Heather Conklin
Social Entrepreneur, Political Scientist, & Community Advocate
“Progress is not made by intermittent leaps, but rather by consistent small steps forward.” Heather has a fierce curiosity about how the world works and fully embraces her “fierciosity.” Whether it’s researching international environmental networking in Brazil, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, or conducting legal research with the California Department of Justice, her broad experiences have fueled her passion for people and progress. Recently, she has actively helped to elect good humans to public office, coordinated grassroots efforts, and conducted a social experiment to improve civic knowledge. These diverse endeavors combined with purpose inspired her to found SPOT Strategies, a social impact firm dedicated to building an informed, engaged and participatory public to support democracy in the 21st century. Heather holds a M.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Riverside; M.P.A. from the University of Southern California; and B.A. in Communication from the University of California at Davis. She deeply believes in our ability to make positive change together.
